The “DAMITA System” is a next-generation integrated air-defense system conceived and driven by Dr. Khalifa Alblooshi, who has led its conceptualization, strategic architecture, and international cooperation framework since 2023.
By bringing together top-tier defense companies from seven countries—including Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Austria, Australia, Monaco, and the United States—he established the foundation upon which Calidus successfully completed the system’s full development.
As a result, the UAE achieved a historic milestone by developing, for the first time, a next-generation low-altitude drone-defense system that surpasses the capabilities of existing equipment in major defense nations. The DAMITA System made its global debut at the Dubai Airshow in November, standing as the flagship symbol of UAE-led defense innovation and a new standard for counter-drone and composite-threat environments.
Dr. Khalifa Alblooshi is widely regarded as the principal architect and driving force behind the entire lifecycle of DAMITA—from its initial conception and international coordination to system development and global launch.
To introduce the DAMITA System to the Government of the Republic of Korea, a strategic marketing initiative is being carried out through Calidus Korea. Extensive media outreach is underway, including major outlets such as the Defense Daily, and trademark registration as well as patent applications are being pursued in parallel.

DAMITA integrates high-energy lasers and 35mm AHEAD air-burst rounds into a single system that automatically selects the optimal interceptor for any weather, distance, or target type. From drone swarms to close-in threats, DAMITA delivers stable, environment-resilient protection.
Laser weapons achieve their highest performance in clear weather and open visibility. With sufficient power, they enable continuous engagements and extremely low cost-per-shot, making them ideal against large volumes of drone threats. Their precision allows rapid neutralization of vulnerable components such as sensors, control surfaces, and lightweight airframes.
However, laser performance can degrade in adverse conditions such as rain, dust, fog, or thermal distortion. In these environments, 35mm AHEAD air-burst ammunition provides decisive advantage. AHEAD is minimally affected by weather and creates a tungsten fragmentation cloud that instantly eliminates fast, small, or close-range targets. It is particularly effective for handling swarm formations and residual threats.
DAMITA unifies these two effectors through an AI-driven C2 engine, ensuring the system automatically adapts to changing battlefield conditions. In clear weather, the laser delivers economical, high-throughput engagement; in poor weather, AHEAD guarantees reliable kill performance. This hybrid approach ensures uninterrupted defense—any target, any environment, any time.
